And now, another exciting episode in the
Adventures of Superman...

Tuesday August 14, 1951 was the eighth day of filming the second set of episodes which included “The Mind Machine,” “No Holds Barred,” “The Birthday Letter,” “The Stolen Costume,” and “Mystery In Wax.”

Players:
Bob Shayne
Isa Ashdown
Maurice Marsac
Nan Boardman
John Doucette

Work continued on "The Birthday Letter." John Doucette was scheduled for this day only, so it's safe to say that all the scenes involving Slugger were completed. Slugger, as described by Kathy, is "not really a bad man." He looks after Kathy, plays games with her, and even goes so far as agreeing to take her home. That is, until his good intentions are thwarted by the utterly despicable Marcel and Marie Duval. Neither of them seemed to have any redeeming qualities. I wonder what Marie had in mind when...

Marcel: We'll leave them here. By the time they're found, we'll be out of the country.
Marie: The girl. Don't you think we ought to…
Marcel: Oh she's no problem. She can't walk.

This completed much of the work on "The Birthday Letter." Isa Ashdown returned on Saturday, August 19 to take her flight with Superman, and Jack Daley was scheduled on Saturday, too, to film his role as Mr. Perkins.
