And so our tour of "Forty Acres" comes to an end. As I watch the shows, I wonder how George must have felt going to work every day on the very same lot where he had filmed his scenes for Gone With the Wind over a decade earlier. It had to be a constant reminder to him of the days when his career held unlimited promise. But such memories never kept him from putting 100% effort into his role as Superman., a part he regarded at the time as being "the bottom of the barrel." George must have been an absolute pro, as was the entire cast. We love them all. And I love that timeless old "Forty Acres" back lot. How wonderful it would be to walk those streets and relive many television memories. Unfortunately, like George Reeves, "Forty Acres" is gone. The lot was bulldozed in the 1970s, and an industrial complex is on the site today. But also like George, it lives on in our hearts. Mayberry and Metropolis, twin cities in TV folklore.

Although he's gone, George Reeves lives on in our hearts.
